COVID-19 Info

Stay up-to-date on the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

If you will be flying, be sure to check with the airline and the country you are departing from to see what their mask, testing, and vaccination requirements are.

Symposium Policies

To help ensure the safety of all participants, registrants must agree to do the following, regardless of vaccination status:

(1) Obtain a negative, self- or lab-administered COVID-19 test result within 72 hours prior to arriving at the symposium;

(2) Wear a face mask over your nose and mouth, except when actively eating and drinking*; and

(3) Socially distance when possible.

*Denver's mask requirement has ended; however, the Symposium will still require all attendees to wear a mask. Hotel staff are required to wear masks, per Marriott company policy.

Cloth masks provided by EarthKind and the Texas School IPM Program will be available at the Symposium registration desk.

Speakers are not required to wear a mask while actively presenting and may use their own discretion.

Attendees are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated prior to the symposium. This includes a booster shot, if eligible.

Some Denver restaurants and venues are requiring proof of vaccination in order to dine-in or attend a recreational event. Symposium attendees are encouraged to travel to Denver with authorized proof of vaccination.

If you feel sick and/or test positive while at the symposium, please follow the CDC’s recommendations.

If you have quarantined for at least 5 days after first testing positive but are still testing positive via a PCR test, you may still attend the symposium.

If you test positive via an antigen test, you may not attend the symposium until you test negative.

Types of Tests

Diagnostic Lab Test (PCR): The RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel Test - NAAT is used to detect genetic material (mRNA) of the coronavirus and will be sent to a laboratory to determine results in a variable amount of time.

Rapid Diagnostic Test (ID NOW): The Rapid Point-of-Care (POC) - NAAT (ID NOW) test also detects genetic material of the virus. The test is performed on site with results available within 24 hours.

Rapid Antigen Test (BinaxNOW): Rapid Point-of-Care (POC) Test - Antigen (BinaxNOW) is an antigen test that detects the presence of a specific viral antigen. The test is performed on site, with results available the same day. These tests imply current viral infection and help determine if an individual is actively infected with COVID-19 and can spread it to others. A follow-up test with a diagnostic test may be required to confirm a positive result.
