This is your opportunity to develop a proposal for a session on the most significant challenges of today – climate change, pesticide resistance, increasing the use of biocontrol tools and new technology, invasive species, emerging pathogens, and vectors. The 11th International IPM Symposium will be held March 3-6, 2025, at the San Diego Paradise Point Island Resort, California USA. The Symposium is a premier global event for presenting and learning about the latest IPM advancements in agriculture, communities, and natural areas. The Symposium is an outstanding networking and professional development event.
Session proposals may address any aspect of Integrated Pest Management including research and extension, regulatory actions and policy, and IPM in practice. The Committee is particularly interested in proposal relevant to this year’s Symposium Hot Topics.
The committee welcomes proposals for multiple speaker sessions, discussion, roundtable, workshop, or question-and-answer formats on specific topics. All Symposium presentations should be made in-person. Proposals for virtual presentations will not be considered. The submission process is simple using our online form.
This call is for organized sessions, not for individual presentations (excepting students and early career scientists). Individual presenters are encouraged to consider submitting poster presentations.
Students and early career scientists (in the first 3 years of employment) can submit an individual presentation request or participate as part of an organized sessions. The event will include dedicated sessions for students and early career scientists, and you will be able to indicate that status in the online form. Applications for funding to support travel and lodging costs is pursuant on available grant funds and the availability can only be determined closer to the event.
The committee may suggest that submitters of similar proposals work together to consolidate proposals. Accepted symposium sessions will be divided into tracks based on general fields of work (agriculture, aquaculture & fisheries, horticulture, specialty crops, turf & sod, row & field crops; forestry and natural landscapes; public health, medical & veterinary; and built environment & structural, and landscape).

Proposals should include the session title, a proposed slate of speakers, and a maximum 250-word abstract. Proposals should also include how much time is requested in ninety-minute time blocks, i.e., 90 minutes, 180 minutes, etc., and how the proposed format will be facilitated.

The Poster Session is one of the International IPM Symposium’s most popular sessions showcasing professional, academic and student talent from around the globe. Abstract submission for posters is CLOSED.
The Poster Session is a prime opportunity to share your IPM work. Your poster abstract will be published on the Symposium website. Your work will gain international exposure to leading IPM scientists, students, industry leaders, and practitioners. Student award winners will receive a certificate, suitable for framing, acknowledging and documenting your poster or infographic award after the event.
Poster abstracts should be submitted online by Friday, December 6th, 2024, for consideration. The abstract must contain an accurate summary of the work and be clear, concise and unambiguous.
This year’s Symposium Hot Topics offer several areas of focus for consideration in preparing your entry. Posters must fit in one of the following IPM fields:
Student Project Poster and Student Infographic submissions will be entered into the IPM Inspiration Award Competition. Students are eligible for the competition if submitting applications no more than 12 months after their graduation. A list of posters (including author, title and abstract) can be found HERE.
Students will follow the same poster abstract submission guidelines as specified above and in the “Call for Posters Document”.
Please note that an infographic is a collection of imagery, charts, and minimal text that gives an easy-to-understand overview of a topic. lnfographics use striking, engaging visuals to communicate information quickly and clearly.
Students who present posters/infographics in the Student Competition for an IPM Inspiration Award will be evaluated according to the following individual rubrics.

Wednesday March 5, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Presenters will be required to stand by their exhibits for 1 hour, either 4:30-5:30 p.m. or 5:30-6:30 p.m.
For both posters and infographic exhibits there will be 1st, 2nd, and Honorable Mention awards in each IPM field (certificates will mailed after the event).
